NHS/United Way Run Walk 5k
On May 1st The National Honors Society of Alliance High School, a group organization for High School students selected upon criteria of scholarship, leadership, service and character will be sponsoring the United Way May Day run walk 5k. All proceeds will be given to the local United Way.
The walk will take place Thursday May 1st. Registration will be from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Cost will be $10 at the P.A.C doors where the race will take place. All though the NHS doesn’t know what the exact route of the race will be, they do know it will start at the P.A.C doors and lead to the Multi Purpose doors on the South side of the High School.
The NHS group consisting of Brianna Ridenour (President), Brady Shimp (Vice President), Ashley Quick (Secretary), Ian Nelson (Public Relations), and Mrs. Misty Graham as the group’s advisor. “ The group picked United Way because United Way doesn’t just support one organization, but many organizations. So by giving to one we’re really giving to more,” says Mrs. Graham.
Although this is the first year NHS has done the walk they hope to make it an annual tradition. They hope to see several people come out to support the National Honors Society as well as the United Way.
