On Saturday, November 19, Student Council held the first ever Morp for AHS in the Burkholder building. With the well-planned decorations of toilet paper strewn across the room, it was a romantic setting for girls to open the doors for their dates, and everyone to dance while wearing their finest sweat pants. So, this isn’t exactly the picture most people get when they hear there is another dance coming up, but this is the exciting new experience Alliance High School students got when they went to Morp. Ashley Woodward, a senior here at AHS, and the president of Student Council said, “It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I think it was a great to get more students involved; it was nice to have a dance between all of the main ones. We made $980 after all expenses and all of the proceeds went to Student Council’s Donation to the Performing Arts Center.” She continued to state, “This dance was a trial Morp, and we didn’t necessarily expect a huge turn-out. I hope they do it next year and get more students to go, it has a lot of potential.”
