As winter approaches, so does Christmas, but that might not be as exciting as it sounds for some people. The idea of coming up with money to afford gifts isn’t always feasible in low-income family households. But there are ways to help out with these hard times such as the Toy Drive and the Santa Helpers Tree.
The toy drive is held around town at many different stores, such as Dollar General and Dirty Pop. A box wrapped in decorative paper is set out typically by the register where gifts, unwrapped, can be placed in them. These gifts will be given to families in need so the children have something to look forward to and the parents can take some stress off their shoulders.
The Santa Helpers Tree is a Christmas tree with hanging ornaments that are listed. The list consists of a description of a person and their wants and needs. The people who want to help take an ornament off the tree and use the list to buy items that match. This tree is located at Bomgaars by the first row of aisles in the middle.
