Keeping Up With The SPUD
Being in Journalism has been a huge highlight to my Junior year. I’ve learned many new things when it comes to writing and made many new friends. As of this year, the SPUD decided they needed to step up their advertising. Starting next year the SPUD will be running a podcast, more social media insight, and their own section in the Star Herald newspaper. As a junior, I got to take the responsibility of being an Editor, which was a huge accomplishment.
The past couple of weeks The SPUD has been brainstorming different ways to bring about The SPUD. Such as advertising in the middle school and putting up posters, with QR codes. Next year the main focus will be to try and make it to state, and really put forth our writing. I asked a couple of other writers how they felt writing for The SPUD “it’s definitely a learning experience, and it was really fun, and I feel like it gives you great knowledge on how to properly write a paper.” stated Emma Machado. “It was really fun, everyone got along and I can’t wait for next year!” stated Jamie Brooks. As the year comes to an end I can not wait for Senior year in Journalism!
