On April 21, in Chanhassen Minnesota, the extremely famous man of many talents, Prince Rogers Nelson was pronounced dead at the age of fifty-seven. The cause of death has yet to be released, but suicide has been ruled out.

Many know this famous pop star as “Prince”. Prince was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. Some of his most famous songs were “Little Red Corvette”, “I Wanna Be Your Lover”, and “Purple Rain”. He was first married to Mayte Garcia from 1996 – 2000. They had a son, named Boy Gregory Nelson but he only lived a week after birth and died due to Pfeiffer syndrome. After a divorce with Mayte, he married Manuela Testolimi from 2001 – 2006. His ex wife, Manueal Testolimi has announced that a few days before his death she contacted Prince to say that she was inspired to build a school in his honor, but now will be building it in memory of Prince Rogers Nelson.

On April 15, Prince was flying back home on his privet plane from a concert in Atlanta, one that turned out to be his last. They had to make an emergency landing and Prince was rushed to a hospital in Moline. Later the public was informed that he eventually returned home and felt fine. As the autopsy results are still pending and his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told CNN “it will be at least four weeks before we receive the results of the autopsy.” Noel-Schure also announced that his remains have been cremated and Prince’s “most beloved” were allowed to say goodbye “in a private, beautiful ceremony”.

Fans from all over have been inspired and have done many different “in memory of” symbols, just like Prince’s ex wife is doing with the school. Over the weekend the entrance of Paisley Park complex, Prince’s $10 million, 65,000-square-foot complex in Minneapolis, was filled with purple flowers, balloons, and signs left from Prince’s fans. His friends and family also handed out purple boxes with shirts, books, and other goodies to the fans. Thousands stood outside St. Entry Club in downtown Minneapolis playing Prince’s songs and leaving purple flowers next to the wall with his name displayed.

The memories and legacy that Prince has left behind will live forever.
