Every fall season, Apple is expected to release new iOS devices, including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. As of this year, Apple will be holding a special event on October 15, when two iPad models will be released, the iPad and the iPad Mini 2. This year, the iPad 5 will go under a major redesign and the device will also be thinner than the iPad with retina display, also known as the iPad 4.

The new iPad will have a built in A7 processor chip, which is accommodated with the iPhone 5S. The iPad 5 will also have a retina display for crystal clear graphics and possibly a touch ID sensor that is available for the iPhone 5S. Also, rumors continue to spread about a wireless charging feature that will be available for the iPad 5.

The retail cost of the iPad 5 will start at $399 and will sell higher for the higher capacity iPad.

As for the iPad Mini 2, Apple hasn’t mentioned an upgraded iPad Mini for this fall. However, rumors suggests a retina display for this device. Along with the retina display, rumors also state an A7 chip and a touch ID sensor that is available for the iPhone 5S, will also be for the iPad Mini 2. However, Apple claims that the Touch ID is in short supply and is hard to meet up with the demand for the iPhone 5S.

Although an iPad 5 has been announced for this year, it’s unlikely that Apple will release a new, improved iPad Mini for the end of fall.
