300: Rise of An Empire – March 7 (Trailer)

A sequel to the 2006 action-history movie, “Rise of An Empire” continues the series based on the graphic novel by author Frank Miller. There are big departures from the original fan-favorite movie. Most notably, original director Zac Snyder is now busy with his “Man of Steel” and instead only helped with developing the screenplay.

Even with the absence of Snyder, “Rise of An Empire” is sure to be a bloody and entertaining time in the theater that will help tell the rest of the story originally written in the graphic novel.

The Grand Budapest Hotel – March 7 (Trailer)

By far, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is my most anticipated film this month. Director Wes Anderson lets us, the audience, bear witness to his next creation. Anderson is known for his highly stylistic films that include “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, and “Moonrise Kingdom.” His next film follows the adventures of a concierge at a famous European hotel and his most trusted friend, a lobby boy. Early reviews are giving the film very high marks and singing the praises for Wes Anderson.

Need For Speed – March 17 (Trailer)

Based on the long running and popular video game, “Need For Speed” makes its lead onto the big screen and also provides leading man Aaron Paul with his first big role since the end of the acclaimed TV favorite “Breaking Bad”.

Many are dismissing the film early on, saying the movie lacks a story and is doomed to fail as most video game to movie adaptations usually are. While the story and the writing may not be the most original or the smartest, the movie does look to have some incredible car action and some stunning cinematography that, at least, will make this movie a fun spectacle in the theater.

Enemy – March 14 (Trailer)

Director Denis Villeneuve and leading actor Jake Gyllenhaal reunite once again for the first time since last years “Prisoners”, a very impressive film that many thought was snubbed at this year’s Oscars.

“Enemy” follows the journey of a man who seeks out his exact look-alike after seeing him in a movie. A mystery-thriller looks to be another hit from Villeneuve and appears to be shot beautifully with some great performances to complement.

Divergent – March 21 (Trailer)

Based on the teen-favorite book series, “Divergent” is the first in a new trilogy that tells the story of Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior who must save her and others from an evil plot that pledges to rid the world of her kind.

“Divergent” will release a movie in the series every year and will impress at the box office for sure. While the film will have a new director for every installment, Neil Burger directs the first act, and accompanied by an impressive cast of actors and actresses that include Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Jai Courtney, and Miles Teller.

Muppets Most Wanted – March 21 (Trailer)

One of America’s most adored cast of characters, the Muppets make another return to the big screen, this time in “Muppets Most Wanted.”

The famous puppets are now caught in a European jewel-heist lead by a Kermit look-alike and a villainous sidekick. While the target audience may still mainly be children, viewers of all ages are sure to get a kick out of the adventures out of the always-funny puppets.

Noah – March 28 (Trailer)

Nearly everyone knows the classic biblical epic of Noah and the ark. Usually, Biblical movies are thin on emotion and fail to amaze. Yet, when you hand this story to a talent such as director Darren Aronofsky, the story of Noah has a chance to be something truly incredible.

Darren Aronofsky is most notably known for his Oscar winning films, “Black Swan”, “The Wrestler”, and “Requiem for a Dream”. He had some incredible actors to work with on the film, including Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Frank Langella, Anthony Hopkins, and Russell Crowe, playing the famous biblical leader, Noah.

The cinematography looks very impressive, as does the makeup and costume design, making the film a movie to surely look forward too.
