With January being light on releases, February picks up the slack with a large selection of games and downloadable content.

The Lego Movie – February 4th

As with every issue of To Be Released, we start off the list with the multiplatform. Usually being based on movies and comic book series, the creators of the fan-favorite LEGO games will be focusing on the “Lego Movie” itself. Being released on all consoles “The Lego Movie” is set to be the biggest game in the Lego history.

Nascar 14 – February 18th

A sequel to “Nascar: Inside the Line”, “Nascar 14” is completely reworked with new graphics and physics and adds additional features such as online leagues, more intelligent and difficult AI, and the ability to upgrade your car and hire new staff in Career mode.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – February 25th

While the previous “Lords of Shadow” was more linear and “Nearer Fate” was more “Metroid” style, “Lords of Shadow” changes their style once again to be more of an open world type game. Additionally “Lords of Shadow 2” is to be far longer than any game in the series and is retooled with new controls, weapons, and a brand new setting. This gives “Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2” some new blood (vampire joke.)

Thief – February 25th

Taking 10 years off and originally being the 4th installment of the series, the reworked, reboot “Thief” releases for all major consoles. “Thief” being a stealth action game, much like “Dishonored”, gives the players a choice to take the quiet approach or blast enemies away.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – February 21st

Starting off with exclusives Nintendo gives us a new “Donkey Kong” game and focuses less on DK and Diddy Kong getting their bananas back and more on unfreezing their tropical island home.

Fable: Anniversary – February 4th

Microsoft has just a few releases this month and one of them is the fan favorite game, “Fable”. Along with the re-mastered game we also get the “Fable Trilogy” which includes “Fable” “Fable 2” and “Fable 3”, all conveniently coming out the same day.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – February 25th

Its time for the plants to uproot and take the offensive in “Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare”. Normally a defensive strategy game “Garden Warfare” takes a new 3D spin and allows you take control of the plants to mow down hordes of zombies.

The Last of Us: Left Behind – February 14th

No PC or Sony exclusives this month so we move right on to the DLC for the month. Just in time for Valentine’s day “Left Behind” releases only for the PS3.

With February picking up the slack and releasing more games than January did we can expect many more amazing games and DLC. With these games now freshly in your mind shopping for your Valentine should be no problem.
