Mrs. Thompson is the new science teacher, but not many people know her except the freshman. Let’s take a deeper dive into who she is and what she does. Mrs. Thompson teaches ecology, engineering, and freshman earth science. Before coming to the middle school and going to the high-school, she taught at Saint Agnes. Her husband is a potato farmer, and she has three sons. One is a senior this year, and two have graduated. Mrs. Thompson began college at North Dakota State University to study agriculture, but then switched to Concordia University in Austin, Texas.
In an interview with Mrs. Rebecca Thompson, she states,” So far, I have enjoyed teaching at the high-school level.”
Mrs. Thompson grew up in northwestern North Dakota, before she moved to Alliance to begin teaching, she lived in Fargo, ND; Minneapolis, MN; Austin, TX; and Arlington, TX. Before she began teaching, and before she even moved to Nebraska, Mrs. Thompson worked for 3M Company in the electrical specialties category. After she got married and moved here, she was a farm wife and stay-at-home mom to her three kids before they started going to school. To begin her teaching career, she was on the substitute teacher list for Hemmingford. Afterwards, she began teaching at Saint Agnes Academy, which also happened to be where her children attended. After teaching at Saint Agnes, she moved to Alliance Public Middle School, and then now to Alliance Public High school. She hopes to continue teaching at the high school and to continue providing a great learning experience with her students.
