Mr. Stein

Mr. Stein

Mr. Stein graduated from Chadron High School and went on to graduate from Chadron State College with a master’s degree in educational administration. He did not originally want to be a principal but a football coach instead. He was influenced by his dad who was a high school football coach for a long time. While he was growing up he played football and he knew he wanted to be a football coach. After graduating college Mr. Stein went to Julesburg, Colorado, Gordon, Nebraska and Gering, Nebraska where he taught social studies and coached football in all three places. After that he went to Chadron and coached college football for 19 years. After he went to Sioux City where he taught P.E. in middle school and coached high school football for three years then he came to Alliance. While teaching social studies Mr. Stein stated, “I do like teaching social studies, but I like P.E. better and I did enjoy my time as a social studies teacher. I just like to be in the gym more than I do in the classroom.” Mr. Stein stated that he likes Alliance a lot but it is very different from Eastern Nebraska, and it feels like coming home to Western Nebraska.

When it comes to the school Mr. Stein’s first priority is to improve the school’s safety and the way students are being taught for the years to come. Mr. Stein states that we can be better all around. We can be better with our relationships, culture and ourselves. He tries his best to interact with the students and observe how the teachers teach. He also enjoys dealing with the staff. Out of school, he has a wife and 5 kids, a son who is a coach, 4 very active daughters and grandchildren. He aspires to help others and himself be better.
