Dr. Troy Unzicker: Superintendant
Dr. Troy Unzicker has been Alliance High’s superintendent for the past 5 years. He is married to Susan Unzicker and has a daughter, Tabitha, who is 22 and a Senior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He started his career as a teacher in Kimball, NE, for 7 years. He then moved to Mitchell, Nebraska, to be a second principal and then was a social science teacher in North Loup Scotia.
He graduated from Gering High School in 1982. He then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney to get his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degree. He went back to school to get his Doctorate degree at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Dr. Unzicker says that his favorite part about his job is “being involved with activities, because I love the kids”.
His hobbies include golfing and working on old cars. While out of the office, Unzicker mows fields for the school and helps in any way possible because “it’s a way to clear my mind and relieve stress”. He has three pets: a bulldog named AHS (pronounced Oz), a shih tzu named Lacey, and a cat named Magic.
