Angie Hiemstra is currently the Health and Physical Education teacher here at Alliance High School. She has been teaching for 21 years, and she loves it. She says “There’s something new every day”.

She graduated from Alliance High School in 1990 and furthered her education at Chadron State College, for 3 years, University of Nebraska at Lincoln for a year and a half, and University of Nebraska at Kearney, for one semester. Since then, she has taught Special Education, Physical Education, Health, and Speech Communication. She has also been a Preschool teacher, and an alternative school teacher.

Outside of work, Mrs. Hiemstra has been happily married for 20 years to Randy Hiemstra. They have three children: Sydnie, who is 22, Madison, who is 19, and Mason, who is 16. Her hobbies include being a Husker fan, watching her children’s activities, and watching college sports. She also keeps herself busy coaching volleyball and track. After she graduated, she chose to stay in Alliance to be closer to friends and family.
