Mr. Carlos Palomo: Weights
Coach Carlos Palomo is a new face this year at Alliance High School. He is the weights teacher and also coaches the girls softball team. Born in Scottsbluff and raised in Gering, Coach Palomo moved to Alliance about two years ago. Palomo attended WNCC for two years, then transferred to UNK to finish his degree. He enjoys fitness because being physically active is a great stress reliever.
As a high schooler, Coach Palomo was interested in becoming an athletic trainer. Palomo chose this career because his weights teacher and football coach, Jimmie Rhodes, inspired him to become a teacher and major in Physical Education. Coach Rhodes had a very big impact on his life. Rhodes pushed Palomo and believed in him as a player and student.
Before Palomo was a weights teacher, he worked for a family friend laying flooring.
Palomo now gets to enjoy his passion as a job.
