The United States Navy has been in service since October 13, 1775. It also has two major divisions. One is the Old Navy, which is from 1775 to 1880. From 1880 till now, it is world’s fastest modernization of any world’s navy. Our navy would also go on to be the world’s first recorded account of all ironclad ships in combat against eachother. Which happened in the civil war between two ironclads of the South and North. This would show the effectiveness of their armor and then show how ineffective black powder cannons were in their time. The U.S. Navy would go on to develop and manufacture full steel and iron ships with little wood in them; first was named the U.S.S. Texas. This ship would go on into WW2 and get many medals.
In the later years of the US Navy in WW2, the American fleet had over 380,000 personnel and 790 active naval ships after the attack on Pearl Harbor; it grew to 3.4 million with over 6,768 active naval vessels of all variants. The U.S navy would innovate the idea of the aircraft carrier by making there carriers all metal bodies and tarmac/concrete tops for landing. They would also combine a new catapult system to help launch aircraft off of the carrier. The U.S. Navy is a very innovative branch of our military because of what types of field they work in and becuase of how much their technology advances. The U.S. Navy is a force that started with wooden ships and metal bottoms to full metal ships with bare wood to literal cities on water with boats with concrete and tarmac on their flight decks. This includes the new wave of tech helping them research bigger and more fuel-saving costs. The U.S. navy will keep going on to advance there technology and make more pece keeping operations around the world for aslong as they last.
