From Goodbyes to Hellos for AHS Band

It’s been a long, tough year for the Alliance High School Band. The former band teacher is David May, and he has been a part of our wonderful band for just this school year. He has thought long and hard, and unfortunately will be resigning this year. Our last band concert for this year is on Tuesday, May 13th, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Alliance High. It will include songs such as, “Water’s Edge”, “Soul Bossa Nova”, “Goldfinger/ James Bond Theme”, “Festivo”, and “Illustrations.”

“The AHS band is an amazing band and will continue to be for years to come. I enjoyed working with the band, and getting to know each individual throughout the band. This is unfortunately my last year teaching these wonderful students, and I hope to see them make it farther and farther in life, and continue to see them succeed,” said Mr. May. Our new band teacher for next year will be Mr. Heidi, who has been a band teacher for 8 years now. He visited the band on Monday, May 12th, and introduced himself, along with his wife, Mrs. Heidi. He hopes to make it far with the AHS band, and hopes that everyone is happy and will succeed throughout the years to come.

The AHS band has been doing a great job this year and plans to do even better things as they advance each and every year. For next year, we hope to have flag twirlers, and give out something new and different for the AHS band, and for the people that enjoy listening and watching all of the wonderful performances.
