I’m David Beckett. I’m a first year writer with aspirations of college and then military. I was born in Maryland, and grew up in Virginia. I moved here to Alliance when I was nine. I plan to graduate school early and go to Gainesville, Florida for college. I would like to major in health sciences, then go into the Navy SEALs and work my way to be a diving medical officer or a squad leader.

  I listen mostly to rock and metal, although Zak Brown occasionally finds it’s way to my playlist. I play the trumpet in the Alliance High School Band, and I am also involved with the One Act Play group and the AHS Show Choir.

  I am currently a black belt in taekwondo, and still learning. I wrestled for my last two years in middle school, but now play golf and out of school bowling.

  I have high regard for just about anyone that is or was in the Navy SEALs. One of my personal heroes is actually a senior this year. I enjoy singing, and he has always tried to help me be better.

  I am new to Journalism, and look forward to writing for the Spud this year!
