Trump Impeached?
President Trump has been on many people’s dislike list as a result of this, some people have used a recent opportunity to try and impeach him. The Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee began pushing for two impeachment articles against Trump in December 2019. But after all the debates, the news about Trump’s impeachment trials being acquitted has spread fast.
Trump’s impeachment was first initiated on December 18, 2019, by Nancy Patricia Pelosi, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Pelosi brought up two impeachment articles against Trump stating that he abused his Presidential power and claimed there was an Obstruction of Congress.
The reasons for these convictions are as stated by BBC news, “Trump had urged President Zelensky to investigate discredited allegations against Joe and Hunter Biden.” Another source providing some more information on this situation was The New York Post, which stated, “his son was receiving $50,000 a month from a gas company run by the most corrupt guy in Ukraine and about two months after they raided the gas company’s president’s home, they fired the prosecutor.” Trump allegedly urged Zelensky to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden. Joe Biden, who would have been potential competition in the upcoming 2020 election. Trump used his power as president as an extra push, which is a destructive attack on the oath of office and our Constitution as one can imagine.
On February 5, 2020, the Senate made the decision to acquit the impeachment claims against President Trump. In order for the convictions to be acquitted, there would need to be a majority of at least 67 votes as there are about 100 people on the Senate committee. The first article was rejected 48 to 52 votes, and the second was defeated 47 to 53.
The process investigation for the impeachment claims against Trump cost a large amount of money, with the National Interest and the Daily Singal both stating that the overall price was $3 million, all this money was said to be taxpayers’ money. This money went to the cost of lawyers and staff, who listened to the hearings and spent time getting the hearings ready. Not to mention the amount of money used to do the investigations, which has not been mentioned publicly by an official source. These numbers are not included in the official impeachment total.
The people that dislike trump have to come to terms with their troubles for a while longer as Trump will remain in the presidential office until the next election.
