January 6th A Monster Calls – PG

Patrick Ness published his fantasy novel, “A Monster Calls” in 2011. Six years later, the film adaptation is to be released.  The story revolves around a twelve year old boy named Connor who has a lot to deal with, as such a young boy does.  His mother is ill, his grandmother is unsympathetic, and his classmates are bullies.  Just when the world seems to be bringing him down, an ancient wild monster appears at his bedroom window.  Together, they endure on an adventure full of courage, faith, and truth.

January 13th Patriots Day– R

On April 15, 2013, tragedy struck the Boston Marathon when two bombs exploded, spreading terrorism throughout the nation.  In the aftermath of the attack, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders, portrayed by Mark Walhberg, FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers, portrayed by Kevin Bacon, and Commissioner Ed Davis, portrayed by John Goodman, join up with several other brave souls to bring the suspects to justice.

January 27th A Dog’s Purpose– PG

The novel “A Dog’s Purpose” written by W. Bruce Cameron was released to the public in 2010, now, the film adaptation is coming out at the end of the month.  The story follows a dog through several lifetimes, who makes it his mission to discover the meaning of his existence.  The story follows how the dog shows his humans to laugh and love while he’s in their lives, helping him to discover a dog’s purpose.
