As the new school year comes around the corner so does fall. Fall brings many different types of movies for all age groups. September is a great month for anyone to go to the movies bringing comedies, dramas, thrillers and adventure flicks.

Forest Gump – September 5

Most of you have seen Forest Gump multiple times, a heart-warming story about a man with a low I.Q and a heart of gold. If you were one of the many that hadn’t had a chance to see it on the big screen in 1994, you have a chance September 5. Experience the life story of Forest Gump, from running out of his leg braces, across football fields, through the country and into the battlefields of Vietnam. From there he went from owning a famous shrimp boat to playing Olympic Ping-Pong. His best friend and sweetheart from when he was young, Jenny, has been on his mind through it all. In the end he just wanted to prove that anyone can love anyone.

The Longest Week – September 5

Coming out the same week as Forest Gump, The Longest Week is a comedy and drama starring Olivia Wilde, Jason Bateman, and Billy Crudup. Conrad Valmont (Jason Bateman) lives a careless life at his parents expense in their prestigious Manhattan Hotel, until his parents cut him off, kick him out and disinherit him all in one week. Conrad goes to live with his best friend Dylan Tate (Billy Crudup) when they discover they have a common interest in Beatrice Fairbanks (Olivia Wilde). The friends compete to win her over.

No Good Deed – September 12

One of the few thrillers coming out in September tends to be like the movie Obsessed (2009). If you’ve watched Obsessed previously you know that you were on the edge of your seat. From the trailer I can already see that this movie will bring you to the edge and leave you there until the end. The storyline involves a devoted stay at home wife of two and previous DA, who lives an ideal life that takes a dramatic turn when Colin, a charming stranger who smooth-talks his way into her house, claiming car trouble, threatens her home and children. The unexpected invitation leaves her and her family terrorized and fighting for survival.

The Maze Runner – September 19

Turning a book into a movie is always risky business; there will never one that makes every person happy. This particular book is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. If you haven’t read the book, here is what the storyline looks like.  Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of boys: He has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about an organization know as the W.C.K.D. Soon, a friend of his from the outside world, who remembers him shows up to help. Thomas has to figure out his purpose of being sent to the maze, and a way to escape.

A Walk Among the Tombstones – September 19

For those of you who enjoyed the movie Taken, you’ll be sure to like A Walk Among the Tombstones. Liam Neeson takes the screen again, this time being a former NYPD detective and recovering alcoholic. Now, he is an unlicensed private detective when a grieving husband contacts him, his game changes. When he gets caught in the middle of a dangerous drug criminals who don’t want him sticking his nose in their business. Will he defeat them or will he see himself become one of the monsters he hunts?
