Currently at Alliance High School, there are many student athletes that are working hard to continue both their athletic and academic careers at the next level. One of these students is Chase King. King is the son of Dan and Sharla King and he plays football, basketball and baseball. King is a great example of a student athlete, as he is always training for at least one sport. In addition to all of his training, he is also able to continue to be a student that strives for success in the classroom. King has been given the opportunity to continue his academic and baseball career at Mount Marty University in Yankton, South Dakota.

In October, King went on a visit to Mount Marty College to visit with the coaches and see the campus along with the field. Soon after his visit, thirteen years of hard work paid off as King was offered a scholarship by Mount Marty on November 20 and accepted the offer just ten days later on November 30. As a Lancer, King plans to continue pitching. King stated that his coaches, teammates and family have helped him become as successful as he is today. King stated that he is most excited about being able to continue the sport of baseball at an even higher level.

King stated that his favorite high school memory was, “the 2019 state tournament. We had an amazing run and it was awesome to be a part of it.” King noted that during the summer leading into college, he will continue to lift and play Spartans Baseball. King also remarked that, “Ruben Garcia has had a monumental influence on me. Without him and the endless hours he coached me, I would not be able to continue my baseball career.”

King would like to thank his family for allowing him to play sports and helping him along the way. He would also like to thank his past, present and future coaches for giving him the opportunities to show them what he can do as he continues to grow as a player and a person. The students and staff of Alliance High School wish you the best as you continue to make us proud!
