There are many fun and cheerful activities that come with the warming season, such as the high school spring musical. This year’s show presented the time-honored performance, Peter Pan.  Starring in the performance are senior actors/actresses Peyton Stoike, Elora Bleisch, and Trajan Garcia, who each fulfilled their final role, performing in the high school musical. Though this was their last appearance in a high school play, for some this is merely a break from performing. Trajan Garcia, the ‘Swiniest Swine in the World’, a.k.a Captain Hook, plans on continuing his adventure in the field of performing arts after he graduates high school. Currently he plans on attending Midland University, where he was offered a theatre scholarship. He plans to participate in as many productions involved in the school as possible.

Beginning in the fourth grade, Trajan took part in the arts for nine years, his first ever role being the March Hare from ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

“Some of the hardest characters I have ever played are Igor and this year’s captain Hook”.

As Igor, in Young Frankenstin, the actor spent most of his time hunched over, restricting his diaphragm from valuable breaths; as Hook, the character required a loud, raspy voice, which can be unnecessarily hard on vocals.

When Garcia was asked if there was any advice he was willing to share with other, aspiring actors, he wished to address that,  “In order to achieve any goal of yours, you must get out of your comfort zone”.

“You can’t be reserved, timid or afraid of looking stupid. I’ve done some really weird stuff on stage and that’s one of the many things that has helped me stand out. If you really want to be a good actor, you have to put everything you have into any role you are given.”
