Farewell AHS

Kolton Quick, A&E Editor

I have enjoyed my time at Alliance High School, but I am ready to move on and continue my life in Chadron State College. I plan on doing studies in Journalism, Anthropology, and maybe even Philosophy.

During my times in Alliance High School I learned plenty of things about life, and I have been inspired to further my education elsewhere. I really enjoyed my science and writing classes, and I will continue research into both topics after high school.

As a student in Alliance High School I am pleased to say that I have had many good memories, and most of all I’ve had plenty of good relationships with friends that I have known since Kindergarten. It will be difficult leaving these friends behind, because the thing I will miss most about Alliance is the relationships I developed.

I want to study Journalism after high school because I’ve always loved to write, and Anthropology is interesting because I want to understand cultures. Both of these fields will give me a better understanding of the human condition and life in general.

My biggest accomplishment in Alliance High School was becoming the Arts and Entertainment Editor for The Spud. My junior year I focused strictly on music and I wrote previews and reviews as a beginning journalist. As I senior I had the honor of writing about video games, and how they will affect the future as a growing art, a topic I have been interested in for many years, and I’ve posted plenty of articles in the Times Herald. It was a great accomplishment working with other journalists and I will forever remember my moments with The Spud and all of the good times I’ve had while attending Alliance High School, and especially the moments I’ve shared with my friends.
