Is there really a true image of perfection? Of course everyone has their own opinion on it, just as  I do, but it makes me wonder if anyone has seen “the perfect person”. Would that person be just as “perfect” to someone else?

We’ve heard it in the hallways of our school and seen it in all the movies. I’ve even done it myself. Calling each other ugly and stupid, but of course, they were only kidding. Everyone is always just “kidding”. What we need to do is to stop and see the situation from someone else’s eyes. If it happens more than once in a hour or more than three times a day, is it just a “joke” anymore? But hey, say it until you see it. That’s what I was always taught to believe.

I asked a few people on their own opinion of perfection, and every single one was different and unique. Nobody saw the same image as someone else. A particular opinion that stood out to me was a girl in my first period. I won’t release names. She stated, “Someone with stretch marks, acne, glasses, braces, and someone who can go a day without a face of makeup and be okay with it.” I can agree with this because no one should have to cover their flaws especially over the opinions of others. To further investigate, I googled “the perfect person” and the results weren’t quite as successful. They were all skinny, tan, with the right amount of muscle mass and no imperfections whatsoever. I found this somewhat disappointing.

In my opinion, I tend to disagree with the internet and all of its images that represent perfection, but my opinion doesn’t matter. Your opinion does. If I could say one thing that I’ve learned from all of this, it would be that the true image of perfection is how you see yourself.
