The Make-A-Wish foundation is a non-profit organization that arranges experiences to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Bree Lovell, of Rushville, who was diagnosed with Premature Peratona of the ovary at age 11, was granted a wish. She chose to go to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Bree also had a special guest come and surprise her with the help of Box Butte General Hospital. The Alliance High School girl’s basketball team came and did a warm up with Bree and her sister. After the warm up Dan Griess, CEO of Box Butte General, announced the girls out onto center court, with the help of the middle school band. The Alliance High School cheerleaders were also there cheering Bree on. After Dan announced Bree and her sister, he announced former Alliance basketball player and current WNBA player of the Tulsa Shock, Jordan Hooper. Bree’s face filled with excitement and happiness as she gave Jordan a hug. Bree got the honor to play a game of horse with Jordan.

Mike Peltz was going to come and play with them but he had something come up and couldn’t make it, but in his absence he still gave Bree a signed poster and a Nebraska t-shirt. Hooper also gave Bree a Nebraska t-shirt along with a signed number 35 Nebraska Husker basketball Jersey.
