October To Be Released: Movies

October marks the beginning of the holiday season. This month has a lot of exciting things in store for us in the movie department. From drama to horror movies this month will be a good time to visit the local theatre!

The Martian – October 2

Matt Damon stars in “the Martian,” in which a manned mission to Mars turns into a disaster when an Astronaut gets stranded on Mars. Mark Watney fights for survival after a fierce storm forces his crew to leave him behind after he is presumed dead. With limited supplies he must find a way to transmit a message to NASA saying that he is alive. Back on Earth a team of brilliant scientists work to bring “the Martian” home, while his crew plans an impossible rescue mission. As the world is rooting for Watney’s return home, the world is brought together.

Pan – October 9

Everyone knows and loves the story of Peter Pan whether it be Disney’s animation or Robin Williams’ “Hook.” This is the story of how Peter Pan became Peter Pan. An orphan who is swiped away to Neverland discovers his destiny to become the hero Peter Pan himself.

Bridges of Spies – October 16

Tom Hanks stars as James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself in the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on a near-impossible rescue mission for a captured American U-2 pilot. Based on a true story, this movie captures a man who risked everything and is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

 

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension – October 23

Yet another Paranormal Activity movie is being brought to theatres this October. A family moves into a new home in Palo Alto, California. The father and his younger brother find tapes of two young girls who are being taught supernatural abilities by their grandmother. Supernatural forces target his daughter and her father must find a way to protect her before it’s too late.

Rock the Kasbah – October 23

Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel, Kate Hudson and Danny McBride star in “Rock the Kasbah,” a story of a rock manager with a golden ear and an eye for talent, who has seen better times. He takes his last remaining client on a USO tour, when she leaves him without a passport and penniless; he is forced to find a way home. On the journey, he finds a band of misfits and a girl with an extraordinary voice. He will fight for his last shot at creating an unlikely superstar.

Don’t miss “Jem and the Holograms,” a heart-warming story of a girl and her friends who become Internet pop sensations overnight. When fame gets to the lead singer, she must find her way back and find what she truly needs: a family. Coming out October 23.
