It’s finally December and almost the end of the year! Christmas break is also close, but in the meantime, you can beat the cold by going to a few movies! This month is filled with an array of fun films, so let’s get into the top five.

 

Jumanji: The Next Level (PG-13)- December 13

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang gets back together, but this time the game has changed. As they return to the Jumanji game to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is what it was before. The players will have to brave new levels unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

Richard Jewell (R)- December 13

Richard Jewell is based on the true story of a security guard who reported on the knapsack bomb that was found at the 1996 Summer Olympics and helped to clear bystanders. But soon after he found himself vilified and suspected of being involved in the terrorist plot.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (PG-13)- December 20

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker takes off where the last film ended, it will also be the last installment of this Star Wars journey. In the film, the surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle breaks out.

Cats (PG)- December 20

Cats takes the famous Broadway Musical of the same name to the big screen. The film focuses on a tribe of cats called the Jellicles who must decide nightly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

Spies in Disguise (PG)- December 25

Super spy Lance Sterling and young scientist Walter Beckett are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is pretty much none of that. But what Walter lacks in social skills he makes up for in smarts and innovation, creating all of the cool gadgets Lance uses on his missions. But when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can’t learn to work as a team, the whole world is in peril.
