It’s December. Along with joy and presents, this month is full of new movie releases, in all of the genres. Moviegoers are sure to be able to find something to love this month. So, here are the top five releases of the month:

 

Ferdinand (PG)- December 15

This family film stars a giant, kind-hearted bull from Spain. Ferdinand is mistaken as a violent beast and taken away from his home in Spain. Determined to return to his family, he goes on a fun-filled journey with a band of misfits to find his lost family.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (PG-13)- December 15

In the latest release of the Star Wars saga, our newest hero, Rey, continues where she left off in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Rey must develop her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order. Rey’s friends, Finn and Poe, appear once again in this new film.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (PG-13)- December 20

In this reboot of the original Jumanji, it takes a modern twist with technology. Four teenagers: stuck in detention get sucked into the game; however, this time, it’s a video game. The kids begin to play the game but soon get sucked in as their chosen avatars. They must now go on a dangerous journey or be stuck in the game forever.

The Greatest Showman (PG)- December 20

Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the joys of show business, while telling the story of a visionary who came from nothing, only to create a worldwide phenomenon. This movie is full of romance and adventure.

Pitch Perfect 3 (PG-13)- December 22

The hyped up third, and final, release of the Pitch Perfect saga is finally here. After winning the World Championships, the Barden Bellas are split apart by their futures after college and their dreams. The graduated Bellas are then reunited with a chance to sing overseas on the USO tour. This gives the gang a chance to crack jokes, and make bad decisions with each other one last time.
