The Muppets were the biggest stars in America for many years. With “The Muppets”, starring its writer Jason Segel, they soon will be again. Jason Segel has proven himself a comic genius and puppet lover in the past, and its easy to see how much fun he had making this movie. The characters come to life and you find yourself forgetting you are watching a bunch of puppets on screen; they become people. The emotion is heavy in the film, but I don’t think I went for more than a minute without laughing. The film is non-stop magic, the sort of movie that comes along every so often and makes you stop caring how silly it is. Requiring no previous knowledge of Muppets, the film is the perfect gateway to bring in new fans while simultaneously paying tribute to countless Muppet classics. This is a movie for all ages; the only inappropriate scene here would be not seeing “The Muppets”.
