After being off the radar for almost a decade Blink-182 is back with their new single “Up All Night.” According to MTV.com, in 2009 Blink-182 announced they were reuniting and would resume work on new material as well as begin touring again. According to Billboard.com vocalist and bass guitarist, Mark Hoppus says their new album is “…lyrically pretty heavy in a lot of places. Maybe that’s where we are in our heads. We’ve gone through a lot of stuff over the past few years. We’re in a better place because of it all-but we’ve gone through some [stuff].”
Also according to Billboard.com, “Hoppus, guitarist Tom Delonge, and drummer Travis Barker, could have made “Neighborhoods” (their new album) even darker-or [could] never have made it at all. An indefinite hiatus that began in late 2004 ended only after Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina on Sept. 9, 2008. The tragedy claimed four lives and left the drummer in an intensive care unit for months with severe burns.”
The tragedy of this event brought the group back together. After they realize the value of the fragile and finite gift of life, they decided to make music together again. Expect the new, very anticipated album to come out Sept. 27, 2011. This album is going to be great!
