On Saturday, the Alliance High School cheerleaders traveled to Grand Island to compete in the 8th Annual Cheer and Dance State Championships. The girls performed in the Class B non-tumble division and received 11th out of 17 teams. The cheerleaders included seniors: Aaliyah Dunn, Veronica Duran, Brettni Mills, Madison Smith and Aubrey Picket Pin, juniors: Megan Boness, Jazlyn Hausmann, Madison Hiemstra and Shelby Shrewsbery, sophomores: Hannah Korte and Sydney Klinkerman, and freshman: Madisen McCance, and Mariah Stewart.

Senior Aaliyah Dunn stated “I feel that we worked hard and left it all out on the mat. We may not have received the place that we wanted but I’m still proud to have participated in the state competition.”

On behalf of The Spud, we would like to congratulate the cheerleaders and coaches Tara Quick and Danielle Swanson on their accomplishments this season. Thank you, cheerleaders, for everything you do.
