Ms. Laura Schroer is a science teacher at Alliance High. She was born in Columbia, Missouri, in 1959. In 1977, she graduated from Luckey High School in Manhattan, Kansas. After graduation, she attended Emporia State University, located in Emporia, Kansas, where she earned her Bachelor in Science and Education. Her BSE allows her to teach Earth Science and Physical Education. Although she has never taught PE, Ms. Schroer used her degree to pursue a career in teaching science.

After graduating college, she taught in Kansas for multiple years until moving to Alliance in 1995 where she has been teaching for twenty-two years. She teaches Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Physics, and is the senior class sponsor.

Her favorite part about teaching science is the lab activities. Her hobbies include playing cards, especially bridge. Ms. Schroer says that on a snow day she likes “to shovel my walk and try to stay warm.”
