The year is at an end, and though gaming has been slow in 2014 due to the next generation consoles just being released, new games will be announced shortly at The Game Awards on Friday, December 5th. Gaming has increased in the last few years and nothing will change. People love the art and the gaming industry will continue to amaze in the future. Graphics will enhance and gameplay will feel more realistic. Story lines have been proven to sell well, since the games nominated for the Game of the Year Award are mostly cinematic and story based. Some companies have been hit by heavy criticism since the next gen consoles have been released but they’ve always bounced back. More indie companies have appeared in the spotlight with amazing game trailers that’ll outlast large funding game companies that could drop millions of dollars on a simple project. The business is a free for all and a simple eight-man company can become legendary like Bethesda. The next generation has opened many paths for artists of the gaming world, and the competition has never seemed so fresh.

Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron From Ice, December 9th

“Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron From Ice” is a video game based on the television show of the same name. It is mainly story based with two hours of dialogue decisions. It’s recommended for fans that have seen the series. The game jumps between the perspectives of three characters. Telltale Games, who also created the “Walking Dead” games, created “Game of Thrones,” and the “Walking Dead” won game of the year in 2012, so “Game of Thrones” should be a great play.

December is a slow month in gaming, with very few games being released. The Game Awards is always in December, so big time companies usually don’t release games the following month. In 2015, many highly anticipated games will be released. The next generation will truly begin to amaze fans in the New Year.
